Let’s Work Together
I’m a Cambridge-based photographer – but I’m not Cambridge-tied. I work with people all over the South of the UK and would love to hear from you about your shoot.
frequently asked questions-
Shoot times vary based on your package, anywhere from 45 minutes - 4 hours. We’ll break it down in advance, so you know exactly what to expect. From pre-shoot strategy sessions to a smooth shoot day, I’ll guide you through every step – and make sure you’re left with the feeling of “I don’t know which ones to choose, because I like them all!”.
-
Absolutely not. Most of my clients aren't models - they're business owners just like you. They feel awkward in front of the camera, don’t know where to put their hands and are usually asking me if I can hide an arm or get their good side. The good news is that I’ve been doing this a while and I’ve seen and heard just about all the random requests (and pleas!) that you could imagine. We’ll talk through poses in advance and I’ll guide you through where to stand, how to hold your hands - even where to look. You just need to turn up.
-
Location depends entirely on your brand, but we’ll pick a place that feels true to you and the image you’re trying to portray. It might be your workspace, a location that reflects your vibe or somewhere neutral that allows you to shine and be the centre of attention (don’t worry if this sounds terrifying - I’ve got you!). Natural light is my best friend, so we’ll choose the best spots and times to get the lighting just right for you. Each location will reflect your values, your business, and your story - and you’ll come away with photos you’ll love.
-
Brand shoots typically book 4 - 6 weeks out, though sometimes I have availability sooner. It’s best to book in advance to secure the best timing for your shoot, but I always try to accommodate last-minute bookings where possible. I know life happens and will always try to squeeze you in - as long as it won’t compromise quality and the planning process.
-
Erm… doesn’t everyone? On a serious note, you're not alone. Half (probably more) of my clients tell me this before we shoot. But it’s my job is to make you feel comfortable enough that the real you comes through - and the feedback you’ll see across my site will tell you that I’m pretty good at making this happen. I'm calm, I move slowly (see my “About Me section to know that I live by this!) and I'll talk you through everything. By the end of the shoot, don’t be surprised if you’re ringing Vogue for your first double-page editorial campaign!
-
Yes, yes and yes again! I actively encourage you to think about what might be helpful to tell your story in your photos and we’ll plan a lot of this during the pre-shoot phase. Whether it’s your products, tools of your trade, wardrobe changes or anything else that makes you and your business unique, the more we plan and build these into your shoot, the more smoothly your session will be.
-
“No”, is the short answer. Headshots are just one part of the story and my approach is to capture a complete visual narrative that reflects your business, personality and the work you do. This includes images of you in action, your process, your environment and lifestyle moments that give a peek into who you are. It’s about building a consistent visual identity, not just capturing a few close-ups of your face. Not to say that your face isn’t great because I’m sure it is, but there’s much more to a branding shoot than just that.
