Event Photography That Feels Like You Were There
I’m still riding the high from the Everybody Moves event last weekend, sunshine, music, movement, and the kind of electric energy that only happens when people come together for something bigger than themselves.
The event, co-hosted by The Ness Club and Girls That Jog, wasn’t just about fitness - it was about community, connection, and feeling empowered in our bodies. The event was supported by amazing women-led wellness brands like @nixibody, @veloforte, and @teampebe, and held at the beautifully rustic Willow Grange Farm (the home of The Ness Club).
The Nixi team delivered a powerful talk on period confidence and body comfort, and PEBE offered personal bra fittings, turns out so many of us are wearing the wrong size sports bras (and everyday ones too). It was a reminder of how empowering the right support, both physical and emotional can be.
The goodie bags were next level, the food was delicious, and the vibe? Absolutely unmatched.
It reminded me of exactly why I love photographing events.
Not for the staged group shots (although those are fun too). But for the in-between moments:
The unfiltered laughter that escapes when no one’s trying to pose.
The way women light up when they find common ground, over wellness, movement, and just being in the same space.
The tiny sparks of connection you might miss if you weren’t looking.
These are the moments that matter. That make people feel like they were there, even if they’re just scrolling through the photos after the fact.
And that’s always my goal.
I want my event photography to feel like a memory, not a performance.
When I photograph events, I don’t want to interrupt the flow or pull people out of the moment. I move with the energy, observe quietly, and capture what feels real.
It’s about presence over perfection. Emotion over aesthetics. Story over strategy.
Because the most meaningful feedback I can receive isn’t, “Wow, this looks polished.”
It’s, “I can feel that moment just by looking at this.”
That’s the magic I aim for, photos that take you right back to how it felt, not just how it looked.
So if you’re planning an event, big or small and want more than just pretty pictures, I’m your girl.
